Severe Weather Rips Through Area

Residents in and around the Menahga area without power

As of 11:00am this morning, power has been restored in Menahga, but clean up continues.

Residents in the city of Menahga, located in the  northwest corner of Wadena County are waiting for power to come back on after storms ripped through that area early Thursday morning. EAS radio’s triggered multiple times between 10:30pm in the Beltrami area with Hubbard and Wadena Country Severe Thunderstorm Warning being triggered at 2:22am.

The city is reporting a number of power poles down and crews have been working through the night to make repairs.

High winds blew the roof off of one building.

Many roads are blocked and closed, and people are being asked to stay indoors until debris is cleared.  Residents of Menahga are being asked to conserve water until the power is restored. 

Trees are reported down in the Palmer Lake area too and the extend of the power outages is not known at this time.  

Trouble from the storm system is widespread across North Dakota and Minnesota.
