Boating accident in Detroit Lakes

On July 17, at approximately 12:06 AM, the Becker County Sheriff's Office dispatch received a 911 call regarding a boat running ashore and hitting trees on Detroit Lake.  Responding officers located the boat, an 18 foot SeaRay runabout, and four occupants, at 400 South Shore Drive,  Detroit Lakes,MN.  The operator, Eric Tulius, age 39, and passengers, Jolene Tulius, age 39, Jodie Johnson, age 39, and Matthew Johnson, age 43, all from Detroit Lakes, were transported to St. Mary's Hospital, Detroit Lakes, with non-life threatening injuries.  The cause of the crash is under investigation.  The Detroit Lakes Police Department, st. Mary's EMS, Minnesota State Patrol, and the Detroit Lakes Fire Department assisted the Becker County Sheriff's Office.
