According to the Bemidji Police Department, a broadside crash involving two vehicles occurred at 6:05am,  Monday, June 09, 2014.  The incident occurred at the crossroad of MN Trunk Highway 197 and US Trunk Highway 71.  A 2004 Chevy Impala driven by Gregory Castellano, 23, of Bemidji, Minn., was traveling westbound on MN Trunk Highway 197 in the right lane.  Doreen Norgaard, 56, of Shevlin, Minn., at the wheel of a 2006 Chrysler Town/Country, was traveling eastbound on MN Hwy 197.  While taking a left turn onto US Trunk Highway 71, Norgaard was broadsided by Castellano’s vehicle.  Castellano received injuries that were non-life threatening.  Doreen Norgaard had no apparent injury.  Her passenger, Thomas Norgaard, 65, was physically injured, however non-life threatening.
