A juvenile male, who was the operator of the boat, said that the boat was a 14 foot blue Lund boat with a 15hp Evenrude motor on it. He noted that two of his passengers were sitting in the front of the boat on a platform that was a wood pallet. Two other juveniles were in the middle of the boat on a bench seat and the operator was on a bench seat controlling the motor. The male operator stated that he had the motor wide open and when he went to slow down the boat slowly drifted forward until the nose of the boat started to take on water, he said after it started containing water it went under fast and sank. All the parties on the boat were okay and no one was injured from the accident. The victims were located on the West Side of the south lake and the helpers were located on the East Side of the south lake when the accident occurred.
