Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office
At approximately 6pm, on Saturday, August 26th, 2017, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office responded to a missing persons report on West Battle Lake. It was reported that Peter Akinboro had taken a Jet-Ski out on West Battle Lake. A family member later discovered the Jet-Ski drifting and Akinboro was not with the Jet-Ski. The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office Dive Team and Water Patrol are continuing to search the lake for Akinboro. The investigation is on-going.

Wednesday afternoon, August 30, 2017, the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office located a body in approximately 47' of water in West Battle Lake. The body is identified to be missing person, Peter Akinboro. An autopsy will be preformed. Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office provided sonar capability which was used to locate the body. Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office Dive/Rescue Team recovered the body with assistance from the Otter Tail County Water Patrol Members.
