The Becker County Sheriff’s Office has been able to locate witnesses that have provided a detailed drawing/conception of the boat that may have struck the Erickson family the night of July 4th at approximately 10:00 p.m. The sheriff’s office has downloaded this concept drawing on the county website and are asking people to please visit the site at www.co.becker.mn.us and click on the appropriate information relating to the cormorant accident to review this photo. A description of the boat is described as a 17’ or larger fiberglass design with a swimmer’s platform attached to the rear portion, i.e. transom, of the boat. The investigation is indicating that the boat entered the water at the public access located on the west side of Big Cormorant Lake, adjacent to county highway #5. Becker County Sheriff’s Office is asking anybody that may have used that access in the afternoon/evening hours to contact the office to help determine a time frame. With additional information it appears that the suspects could be two young adult males and one young adult female that were in the boat and probably arrived at the access together. For further details feel free to contact Becker County Sheriff, Tim Gordon.
